Say No to the Senate Resolution

Tell Senator Cassidy to ‘say no’ to the Senate Resolution that will cut Medicaid and Social Security benefits. (202) 224-5824

Please call Senator Bill Cassidy’s office in DC at (202) 224-5824 and ask him not to increase the deficit with tax cuts for billionaires at the expense of healthcare and jobs for Louisianans.

Here is a prompt for calling:

Hi, I’m a constituent calling from [zip]. My name is _______.

I am calling to ask the Congressmember to oppose ALL cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and other vital programs in the Republican reconciliation bill. In our district alone, (FIND YOUR DISTRICT STATS HERE), [X] people rely on Medicaid and [X] on SNAP. Selling these folks out to pay for tax cuts for billionaires is horrific. Don’t do it. Thanks!

The Cuts are so Bad, People are Risking Arrest!

During the first day of voting at the Means and Ways Committee on the Resolution Bill, people protested in volumes. Many of them were in wheelchairs, but all of them feared the same thing – what would happen to them if they lost their healthcare.

Alex Lawson: We're outside the Energy & Commerce committee with folks risking arrest to protest the destruction of Medicaid which is what Republicans are doing right now in the committee room.

$880 Billion in Medicaid Cuts are in the Reconciliation Bill!

Cassidy voted with Republicans to cut Medicaid and add 3.7 trillion to the deficit and call it “zero additional deficit” as part of an effort to get around the Senate’s rules for the budget process. In summary, the motion to proceed to the Senate Resolution enables the following:

– Add 3.7 trillion in deficits but call it a “baseline” so that Trump’s billionaire tax cuts can be made permanent

– Enable 880 billion in Medicaid cuts

Raise debt ceiling by 4 trillion (yes, 4 trillion!)

This week’s stock market losses from ‘Liberation Day’ tariffs are bad enough. ‘Say no’ to bankrupting the American people further with the Reconciliation.

This is your action alert for the day, Louisiana. Tell Cassidy to ‘say no’ to the Reconciliation (202) 224-5824.
