Stand Up For Democracy
The Stand Up For Democracy neighborhood pop-up protests are a familiar and inspiring presence across New Orleans. What began quietly, with two groups separately demonstrating on Carrollton and on Napoleon, grew into a city-wide movement. One neighborhood sparked another, and soon the protests spread organically across town. These pop-ups exist to fill the space between large, scheduled demonstrations. They keep the fire alive when headlines fade. By showing up again and again, the protestors remind their communities that no one is alone in caring about democracy.

What’s the Plan?
The chaos out of the White House is meant to overwhelm us. Our antidote is community. Join Indivisible co-founders Leah Greenberg and Ezra Levin every Thursday at 2pm to break down the week’s biggest political stories, answer your questions, and map out strategies for taking action.
This is people-powered politics in real time. Questions can be submitted via the Q&A function during the live event.
Real talk. Real people. Real action. That’s the plan.

Indivisible for Jasmine Clark GA-13 Phone Banks
Join Indivisible on April 22 and 23, 4:30–6:30pm, as we make calls into GA-13 to inform voters about the upcoming primary election on May 19th and why we’re supporting Jasmine Clark for Congress! We’ll be telling voters all about this exciting candidate and why they should be voting to send Dr. Clark to represent them in DC. Help make calls to voters in GA-13, and let’s send a real fighter for families and a defender of democracy to Congress!
A short phonebanking training will be included at the beginning of each phonebank, so both first-time dialers and phonebank pros are welcome to join. Be sure to have both a computer and a phone so that you can make calls to voters.
Communities Not Cages: National Day of Action Vigil for Family Freedom – Alexandria, LA
Join us Saturday, April 25th at 10am to stand in solidarity with our immigrant neighbors.
England Airpark officials have voted to expand what is already one of the busiest ICE processing facilities in the nation. NOW and ALWAYS, we must stand up for our communities and make it clear that we ALL deserve dignity, respect, and the opportunity to provide for our families regardless of where we were born. Across the country, family detention centers like the one proposed for Alexandria have been cited for human rights abuses. The proposed site sits on land contaminated by ‘forever chemicals.’ Join us for a silent vigil to honor those whose lives have been torn apart by ICE, while standing up for family freedom and human rights in Alexandria and beyond. After the silent vigil we will leave England Airpark and meet up at Compton Park. (address will be sent after registration)
Join us outside as part of a nationwide day of action to oppose the Trump administration’s expansion of ICE warehouse detention and its attack on the due process rights of immigrants and all Americans.
The Department of Homeland Security is moving to lock thousands of people in massive detention warehouses — disappearing them from their families, their lawyers, and their communities. We’re taking to the streets to make clear that stands for dignity, justice, and the rule of law.
Confronting Christian Nationalism
White Christian Nationalism is one of the most dangerous forces shaping American politics today. It has been weaponized to justify attacks on democracy, empower authoritarian leadership, and silence the voices of faith communities who refuse to go along with it.
On Sunday morning, April 26, Rev. Dr. Shannon Fleck, Executive Director of Faithful America, will deliver a powerful address on the rise of Christian nationalism, what it means for our democracy, and the responsibility that people of faith have in this moment. We will also be talking directly about the pillars that hold up the Trump regime, how they operate, and how movements built on faith and civic power can target and dismantle them.
