Please call Senator Bill Cassidy’s office in DC at (202) 224-5824 and ask him not to increase the deficit with tax cuts for billionaires at the expense of healthcare and jobs for Louisianans.

Yesterday, he voted with Republicans to cut Medicaid and add 3.7 trillion to the deficit and call it “zero additional deficit” as part of an effort to get around the Senate’s rules for the budget process. In summary, the motion to proceed to the Senate Resolution enables the following:

– Add 3.7 trillion in deficits but call it a “baseline” so that Trump’s billionaire tax cuts can be made permanent

– Enable 880 billion in Medicaid cuts

– Raise debt ceiling by 4 trillion (yes, 4 trillion!)
